International Year of Youth
On 18 December 2009 , the United Nations announced the International Year
of Youth, with the theme of Dialogue and Mutual Understanding, starting
on 12 August 2010 .
The year is about supporting young people to participate effectively in all aspects of society. Young people play an important role in effecting change and their ideas and energy contribute to the continuing development of their societies.
FPQ is a proud supporter of the International Year of Youth. With the assistance of Family Planning Victoria , FPQ has produced an A4 size poster for people who work with young people, featuring Fast Facts about sexual health and young people. Check out the poster.
FPQ has also produced postcards, designed for young people, containing the Fast Facts.
If your service would like copies of the poster and/or the postcards please contact Claire Rogers on 3250 0252 or email projectsupport@fpq.com.au
We can all play a role in celebrating the year. Organisations who work with young people are encouraged to initiate and participate in events to celebrate the year.
