Welcome to FPQ’s health professional education and training.
FPQ is a leading provider of specialist education and training in the area of sexual and reproductive health for doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
FPQ is a Registered Training Organisation and is an accredited provider with Royal Australian College of General Practitioners; Royal College of Nursing, Australia; and the Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine.
FPQ offers the following courses to registered nurses:
- Introduction to Sexual & Reproductive Health Theory
- Pap Smear Provider Module
- Clinical Aspects of Sexual & Reproductive Health Course
- Sexual & Reproductive Health Clinical Attachment Module.
These courses can be taken as stand alone components as required to meet your professional and workplace needs. Please note that Registered nurses completing all four components meet the requirements to be awarded the FPQ Registered Nurse Certificate in Sexual & Reproductive Health.
Each of these courses may attract credit points towards university courses. Participants are required to make their own enquiries with their course coordinators regarding options for credit.
Introduction to Sexual & Reproductive Health Theory
This course has been endorsed by APEC number 060210224 as authorised by Royal College of Nursing Australia according to approved criteria. Completion attracts 25 RCNA CNE points.
Course details
The Introduction to Sexual and Reproductive Health Theory is recommended for health professionals who wish to increase their knowledge and understanding of sexual and reproductive health issues in a variety of contexts. Course information. This course is eligible for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people scholarship program (2012).

Pap Smear Provider Module
This
Pap Smear Provider Module has been accredited by APEC number 060210224 as
authorised by Royal College of Nursing Australia according to approved criteria.
Attendance attracts 50 RCNA CNE points.
Course details
This course provides registered nurses with specialist knowledge and skills to practice as a Pap smear provider and to be eligible for authorisation as a Registered Nurse Pap Smear Provider in Queensland to access data on the Queensland Health Pap Smear Registry and to provide cervical screening services. Nurse practitioners, enrolled nurses and health workers may also be eligible to apply. Course information. This course is eligible for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people scholarship program (2012).

Clinical Aspects of Sexual and Reproductive Health Course

Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinical Attachment Module
Course details
The Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinical Attachment Module is a program of clinical supervision that is designed to assist registered nurses to translate theoretical knowledge in sexual and reproductive health, into competent clinical practice. Course information.

Tailored Clinical Attachment
FPQ offers a flexible clinical attachment to nurses, providing an opportunity for one-on-one supervision and training in the clinical setting that can be tailored to the individuals needs. The clinical attachment may be arranged at any of the FPQ clinics across the state. For further information.
Contraception Overview - suitable for GPs, DRANZCOG candidates and nurse practitioners
This module has been specifically designed for doctors undertaking training for the DRANZCOG but is also suitable for other doctors and nurse practitioners.
All methods of contraception will be covered in a full day theory workshop where the emphasis will be on practical aspects and case based discussions. Prior to the workshop-all participants will be expected to have completed pre reading.
Participants can then arrange 3 half day practical sessions working with experienced staff at an FPQ clinic
