Case studies

Case studies on this site seek to highlight the journey, experiences and reflections of schools who have implemented a sexuality education program. The case studies are not intended to be examples of the best way to implement a sexuality education program, as each school has different needs within their community. They are intended to provide useful models to guide and support teachers, educators and schools following the same pathway towards implementing a sexuality education program.

The case studies represent the diversity of contexts in which sexuality education has been implemented within government and non-government schools throughout Queensland.

Each case study represents a unique insight into why the school chose to implement a sexuality education program and their resulting journey. The case studies are structured using the following format:

Creating a foundation for sexuality education

Planning and preparation

Reflections and future planning

Educators and schools can contribute to the content of this section by submitting a case study using the above format as a guide, to share their journey in implementing sexuality education.
