What is Bodies and relationships education essentials?Bodies and Relationships Education Essentials is a sexuality education resource for primary schools containing lesson outlines from prep to year 7 that are sequential and age appropriate. It is designed to assist teachers to create a safe, supportive, inclusive and positive environment for sexuality education. The resource also offers teachers extensive support materials for implementing a sexuality education program. This includes teaching strategies, information for parents, additional resources and explanations of key concepts. This supports the exploration of sexuality education topics across curricula with content, learning activities and assessment negotiated with students. The Student Health and Wellbeing Curriculum Framework (Department of Education, Training and the Arts, 2005) provides schools with information about the health promoting schools approach and supports the delivery of sexuality education.
