Fees
All of our services are free or low cost. To access our services, clients pay a small annual fee, effective 15 July 2011:

We also offer a range of prescription and non-prescription contraceptive products at reasonable prices.
As of 1 September 2011, FPQ’s Townsville centre bulkbills our medical consultations. Please bring your Medicare card with you to your appointment. If you do not have a Medicare card, you can still come to an FPQ clinic. Please notify clinic staff if you do not have a Medicare card at time of booking.
We will continue to charge a fee for IUD and Implanon procedures.
We are committed to serving all clients regardless of their ability to pay. Please speak with a clinic staff person if you are unable to pay.

Young people are always welcome to call in during opening hours and a nurse is available to provide a range of health checks and/or information. An appointment is not required for this visit.
Clinic services
The clinic is staffed by doctors and nurses trained in sexual and reproductive health and provides confidential services including:
Contraception
- emergency contraception
- supply of hormonal methods
- diaphragm fitting
- intrauterine devices (IUDs)
- condoms
Sexual health checks
Other services include:
- Pap smears
- breast examinations
- pre-pregnancy planning, testing and counselling
- information, assessment and management of menopause, fertility problems, sexual difficulties and menstrual problems
Young people are welcome at our clinic. All services are low cost or free. FPQ now bulkbills medical consultations.
Note: For repeat pill prescriptions, it may be necessary to make an appointment to see the doctor or nurse. Please check with reception staff.
Education services
We provide education and training in sexual and reproductive health for:
- teachers
- disability sector workers
- doctors, nurses and other health professionals
- tertiary students
Parent/carer information and education programs:
- preparing for puberty
- communicating about sexuality with children
- responding to sexual behaviours
- sexual health and parenting programs for young parents
Family education sessions:
Family education programs are conducted throughout the year to encourage parent/child communication about sexuality. The sessions provide age appropriate sexuality education, information and support during, before and after puberty, build your child’s self esteem and answer questions with comfort. Sessions are 2 hours. Includes sessions specifically designed for families with children with disabilities.
Cost: $30 per family. Bookings are essential.
