Group education for people with a disability
FPQ provides small group education in a range of settings. FPQ will develop a program in consultation with staff and encourage professionals to be actively involved in the facilitation of the program. This ensures that support in relation to sexuality and relationships issues is able to be provided to group members in an ongoing way. Professionals involved have the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in relation to supporting healthy sexuality and relationships education (SRE) with the children, young people or adults they are working with. Topics addressed may include:
- Body parts and functions
- Public and private
- Rules about touch
- Relationships
- Puberty
- Menstruation
- Sexual relationships
- STIs and safer sex
- Pregnancy
- Masturbation
- Sexual behaviours
- Personal safety
Group education is charged per hour per group. Contact your nearest FPQ education office to discuss organising a small group program.
