Health Promotion and Education Officer – Gold Coast (up to 38 hours per week)
Family Planning Queensland (FPQ) is a Queensland organisation offering clinical and education services in the area of sexual and reproductive health. An exciting opportunity exists to join this dynamic organisation in the position of Health Promotion and Education Officer.
The successful applicant will develop and implement sexuality and relationship education programs and projects for various groups in the community.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Essential qualifications, skills and knowledge
- Skills in the development, delivery and evaluation of community education programs
- Skills in the delivery and evaluation of training programs for professionals
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Relevant qualifications and experience in education and/or training
- Experience in consultation and collaboration with relevant government and community organisations, and the development of partnerships
- Experience working within education and/or disability services settings
- Computer literacy in word processing, email and spreadsheet software programs
- A positive notice - 'Working with Children Check' administered by the Qld Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian
- A driver’s licence and some intrastate travel and out of hours work
Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment will be highly regarded.
PURPOSE & CONTRIBUTION
The role of the Health Promotion and Education Officer is to:
- Develop and deliver information, education and training in the area of sexual and reproductive health to members of the community
- Develop and deliver education and training to key professionals in the area of sexual and reproductive health
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- Develop partnerships with relevant government and non government services and organisations.
Service Development and Management
- Undertake a range of reporting activities for internal and external purposes
- Respond to enquiries about FPQ services, resources and products from other service providers and community members
Professional Practice
- Deliver community education and professional training in the area of sexual and reproductive health
- Participate in the development and review of information and education resources
- Attend meetings and staff development activities as required
- Conduct promotional activities such as displays and information stalls
- Participate in planning for and delivery of education programs and health promotion projects
- Maintain and develop education and training skills
- Maintain data on all education and training services delivered and provide data to the Regional Education Coordinator
- Flexibly manage activities related to the role, which may require some out of hours and intrastate travel.
Information and Communication Technology
- Effectively utilize IT systems for staff communication, learning and reporting
Workplace Health & Safety
- In collaboration with other staff, maintain a safe working environment for staff and clients in accordance with relevant Workplace Health and Safety Guidelines
Remuneration
Salary and hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant depending on qualifications and experience.
Salary range: $ 49,129.00 to $ 58,868.00 p.a (pro rata) + 9% superannuation.
