Family Planning Queensland (FPQ) is looking for an experienced Communications professional to develop and deliver media and marketing strategies.
You will work with Executive and Program managers to identify marketing strategies for products and services of FPQ. You will also be the first point of contact for all media enquiries and the development of proactive media strategies.
You will also coordinate a team of two in the development of health promotion, campaign and training resources.
The salary range is $61 - $64K plus super and there is generous salary packaging available.
This is a full time position. FPQ is prepared to consider part-time or flexible work arrangements including working from home for part of the week.

Marketing and Communications Manager
Position Objectives:
- Promote FPQ and its programs, products and services through effective use of media, marketing and communication strategies
- Ensure FPQ organisational communications are high quality and consistent with the organisation’s strategic direction
- Increase the capacity of FPQ staff to work effectively in the marketing and communications elements of their roles
- Effectively manage and develop staff employed within the information and communication area

Duties and Responsibilities:
Media Management
- Develop and implement media relations strategies
- Manage all media enquires and allocation of appropriate spokespeople
- Develop and implement processes and materials to support FPQ staff involved in media relations activities
- Develop and maintain key media contacts and relationships
- Produce high quality media materials including media releases, articles and editorial in consultation with the Executive managers and/or the Chief Executive Officer
Marketing
- Develop and implement communication and marketing strategies to assist in the achievement of the organisations strategic direction
- Support and build the capacity of FPQ staff in using promotional opportunities effectively
- Identify and develop sponsorship and fundraising strategies in collaboration with executive managers
- Coordinate the development of the Annual Report
- Coordinate the development of the FPQ website
Quality Assurance
- Develop and monitor quality assurance processes relating to marketing, corporate identity, print and electronic communications, events and promotional activities
Human Resources & Budget Responsibilities
- Coordinate the recruitment, performance & professional development for staff employed in the communication and information area
- Manage the marketing and communication budget in collaboration with the Director of Education and Communication Services .
Selection Criteria
Applicants will need to demonstrate the following skills and abilities
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in communication, public relations and media
- High-level technical writing and editing skills for health promotional material, website content and media releases
- Experience in supervision and development of staff
- Experience in achieving outcomes in a dynamic environment
- Computer literacy in word processing and website management software
