FPQ provides clinical services, education, training, information and advice related to sexual and reproductive health. An exciting opportunity exists to join this dynamic organisation in the position of Correctional Facilities Education Project Officer.
Up to Full Time (Hours negotiable)

Project Overview:
FPQ is funded by Queensland Health to conduct the Correctional Facilities Education Project (CFEP). This project works within Queensland correctional settings to promote sexual health and raise awareness of blood borne viruses. The Project Officer facilitates delivery of education and training to both staff and prisoners, provides input into policy, strategies and the development of prison specific resources. The project has also developed strong partnerships within the sector in the development and delivery of project activities.
Position Objectives:
Responsible for the implementation of the Correctional Facilities Education Project (CFEP)
Responsible to:
Manager, Education Services Development
Collaborates with:
- Regional Education Coordinators
- Other FPQ Educators and Project Officers
Duties and Responsibilities:
Service Delivery
- Develop, implement and evaluate education programs for staff and inmates of Queensland correctional facilities
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to support the implementation of policies and strategies which support sexual health and blood borne virus prevention and education initiatives in Queensland correctional facilities
- Liaise with FPQ Regional Education Coordinators in the implementation of programs in regional areas
Service Development
- Develop and implement a project delivery plan, including timelines, to meet project outcomes
- Liaise with key stakeholders, including relevant government and non-government agencies to inform project directions
- Prepare reports and analysis as required
- Represent FPQ and the project at forums, meetings and as required
Information & Communication Technology
- Collect appropriate data for evaluation, recording and reporting
Other Duties
- Other duties as requested by Manager, Education Services Development
Other Conditions
- Evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B or willingness to undertake Hepatitis B vaccination process
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
Key Selection Criteria
- Experience in project management
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of training and education programs for a range of audiences
- Demonstrated understanding of key issues in the area of sexual and reproductive health and blood borne viruses in the corrections environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Computer literacy with word processing, email and database programs

Annual Salary Range
SACS Level 6 ($30.98 - $33.41 per hour)
