Clinical Education Coordinator
Family Planning Queensland is the leading provider of sexual and reproductive health education and training to clinical professionals throughout Qld. An exciting opportunity exists to join this dynamic organisation in the newly created position of Clinical Education Coordinator.
Whilst this role would ideally suit a registered nurse with experience in sexual and reproductive health, applications from other professionals with experience in education and training for clinicians will be highly regarded.

Position Objectives:
- To contribute to the development of excellence in sexual and reproductive health training and education programs for clinical professional
- To coordinate the implementation of accredited training programs for nurses and medical practitioners
- To implement and review nursing and medical cervical screening education and training programs and projects conducted by FPQ

Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Develop FPQ’s profile, position and activities in health professional workforce development in Queensland
Service Delivery
- Develop and monitor training and assessment systems, resources and materials across all health professional courses
- Coordinate FPQ’s Pap Smear Provider Module course for nurses including delivery, evaluation and review
- Manage the Cervical Screening Updates Projects, including:-
- Develop and maintain working relationships and partnerships with relevant organisations (Divisions of General Practice, RACGP, Training Consortia, ACRRM, RDAQ, Centre for International Medical Graduates) to inform project delivery
- Convene and provide secretariat support to project reference group meetings, including preparation of reports
- Maintain appropriate records of project activities (including review of materials)
- Co-ordination of recruitment, training and support of Simulated Clients
- Liaise with Clinical Nurse Manager regarding clinical attachment requirements of programs, including FPQ staff development and support
- Co-ordinate the planning and implementation of education and training in the area of sexual and reproductive health for nurses, doctors and other health professionals identified as priorities
- Regularly review communication and information dissemination mechanisms, including relevant activity databases
Human Resource/Staffing
- Manage a small team of administrative support staff
- Manage project officers and contractors involved in specific projects as required
Management
- Prepare reports on program, projects and service initiatives as required
- Identify and respond to opportunities for program funding and develop partnerships with organisations relevant to the program area
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of training and education programs for clinical professionals
- Demonstrated ability to maintain structured systems to meet accreditation requirements
- Demonstrated ability in managing human and financial resources within an allocated budget
- A broad understanding of current issues in the area of sexual and reproductive health clinical workforce development
- Demonstrated report writing skills and excellent verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated competency in word processing, email, Internet and spreadsheet software programs
Desirable
- Knowledge of the structure of sectors and networks relevant to clinical sexual and reproductive health education and training in Queensland
- Registration with the Queensland Nursing Council and current annual license certificate
- Experience working in a sexual and reproductive health care setting
Remuneration and conditions
Salary and hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant depending on qualifications and experience.
Range: FPQ education or nursing salary scales $59,629 - $68,552 ($30.17 - $34.69 p/h)
Full FBT exempt salary packaging available
9% Superannuation
A degree of flexibility will be required to manage the activities related to the position. Some out of hours and intrastate travel may be required.
