Project Overview:
FPQ is funded by Queensland Health to conduct the Correctional Facilities Education Project (CFEP). This project works within Queensland correctional settings to promote sexual health and raise awareness of blood borne viruses. The project officer facilitates delivery of education and training to both staff and prisoners, provides input into policy and the development of prison specific resources. The project has also developed strong partnerships within the sector in the development and delivery of project activities to promote through care for prisoners.
Position Objectives:
Responsible for the implementation of the Correctional Facilities Education Project (CFEP)
Responsible to:
Manager, Education Services Development
Collaborates with:
- Regional Education Coordinators
- Other FPQ educators and project officers
Duties and Responsibilities:
Service Delivery
- Develop, implement and evaluate education programs for staff and inmates of correctional facilities
- Liaise with FPQ Regional Education Coordinators in the implementation of programs in regional areas
Service Development
- Develop and implement a project delivery plan, including timelines, to meet project outcomes
- Liaise with key stakeholders, including relevant government and non-government agencies to inform project directions
- Prepare reports and analysis as required
- Represent FPQ and the project at forums, meetings and as required
Information & Communication Technology
- Collect appropriate data for evaluation, recording and reporting
Other Duties
- Other duties as requested by Manager, Education Services Development

Selection Criteria
To be successful, the applicant will need to demonstrate the following skills, abilities and attributes:
- Experience in project management
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of training and education programs for a range of audiences
- Demonstrated understanding of key issues in the area of sexual and reproductive health and blood borne viruses, in the corrections environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Computer literacy with word processing, email and database programs

Other conditions
- All new employees of FPQ are required to undergo the 'Working with Children Check' administered by the Qld Commission for Children and Young People
- Evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B. Minimum requirement to commence employment will be the first vaccination having been undertaken and agreement to complete the vaccination course and provide evidence of immunity within 9 months
- Applicants must be willing to undergo and able to pass a security clearance by Queensland Corrective Services for access to Queensland Prisons

Salary: SACS Level 6
